The Walrus will be closed over Spring Break: Here’s Why.
The Walrus will be closed for a week starting Sunday, March 23rd, 2014. We will reopen on Tuesday, April 1st, 2014.
We want to be completely honest and let you know what is going on and clear up any rumors. We received a ticket for “allowing intoxicated persons inside the bar” a couple months ago. This week, we went in front of the liquor board and we recieved an 8 day suspension.
We are letting you know for 2 reasons:
1) We want to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience. We love what we do. We are open every day of the year. We work extremely hard to be Boulder’s favorite place to come relax, celebrate, get away from the stresses of your day, etc etc. Unfortunately, for those 8 days, we will not be able to do that for you. Those of you who are going out of town for spring break wont even notice that we were closed. But, if you are staying in town next week, we wanted to let you know up front.
2) We will be tightening our policy as far as who we let in the bar from here on out. Any visible signs of intoxication will get you turned away at the door or asked to leave (if you are already inside). We have always done this, but we will have to be even more strict about it. We WILL still be the best and most fun bar in town! That is not changing! But, we want to let you know about this now, so we dont make anyone angry when we turn them away.
We hope to see you all out tonight and tomorrow night! And, we have some exciting stuff in store for you all when we open back up after Spring Break!
